Bobby Gene Long, 73, died on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in Graham. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Bobby was born on January 23, 1937 in Chilton, Texas to the late Tossie and Willie Mae (Gilmore) Long. He married Margaret Coleman on April 23, 1982 in Abilene and they resided in Graham until his death. Bobby worked as a tire repair man for many years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Graham. He loved people and socializing with them. Bobby will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include: wife, Margaret Long of Graham; sons, Bobby Long, Jr. of Long Beach, CA, Larry Coleman and wife, La Sonja of Graham, James Coleman and wife, Elizabeth of Graham, Bobby Lee Carter of Amarillo; daughters, Nilas Jo Long of Long Beach, CA, Marilyn Hurd Poke and husband Edward of DeSoto, and Rose Ann Sikes of Dallas; aunt, Earline Johnson of Graham; 27 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Marcus Long and Robert Gene Carter and a sister, Pearline Flurry.
Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Young County Chapter.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
