Boyd Christian Brazeel

Boyd Christian Brazeel was born January 6, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to Boyd and Marjorie Brazeel.

He passed away Thursday, July 24, 2025 at home with his loving wife Suzy and son Philip.

He attended Graham schools, then graduated from San Marcos Baptist Academy (though he was an active member of the Graham High School Class of 1963. He also attended Ranger College and took law enforcement courses at Sam Houston State University while with the Corpus Christi Police Department. He was also an officer with the Irving Police Department.

He retired from Central Freight Lines after 32 years of service. During some of that time he worked with the cities of Hickory Creek, Highland Village, and Denton County Constables office as a reserve officer.

He ended his law enforcement reserve activities after his first granddaughter Kaylee was born. He decided he would rather spend time with her than stopping speeders on I-35.

He and his wife Suzy were married for 60 years and had a wonderful time together traveling to Scotland, Ireland, Athens, Greece, Rome, and the Shetland Islands on their many vacations. He always loved traveling.

They also loved hiking in Big Bend National Park and the Guadalupe Mountains over several years.

Boyd was active all his life and loved working out. When his sons were growing up he helped them and their friends in weight training. He trained his son Mark in powerlifting.

He became artistic in his later years, carving sandstone rocks into cliff dwellings, birdbaths with images in the center, planters for flowers and cactus. When asked why he carved a cliff dwelling in a particular stone, he replied that, “I saw it in the stone.“

He loved being a grandfather to granddaughters after raising sons. He had wonderful times with them as they were growing up.

He and Suzy became great-grandparents to Noah Sweatt in June of 2023. He took great pleasure in being with Noah and spending time with all his family

He is survived by his wife Suzy, of Lewisville, son Philip and wife Sherry of Argyle, granddaughters Kaylee Sweatt and husband Tyler of Argyle, Marisa Brazeel of Justin, Emma Moody and husband Robbie of Corinth, great-grandson Noah Sweatt, sister Ruth Brinson of Carrollton, and brother, Charles and his wife Vicki of Grand Prairie, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Boyd and Marjorie Brazeel, and his son Mark Brazeel.
