Carole Ann Martin, 91, passed away Monday, December 8, 2025 at her home on Possum Kingdom Lake. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 3 p.m. at The Chapel at PK. Burial will follow at McAdams Cemetery on Possum Kingdom Lake.

Carole was born August 17, 1934 in North Tonawanda (Buffalo) New York to the late Phil and Rose Mirgle. She married Bobby Martin on May 14, 1954. Carole grew up the daughter of an airline pilot living in Atlanta and Miami before moving during her senior year in high school to Eagle Mountain Lake in Fort Worth. Carole caught Bobby’s eye when she impressed him with her natural skill water skiing ability. She was also a wonderful dancer. They dated several years before getting married. Bobby was flying with Central Airlines at the time. In the early 1960’s they moved to Possum Kingdom Lake and started Villa Marina. Except for a few years in Wichita Falls they lived at Possum Kingdom raising their sons Mike and David. As a family, they went to many water ski competitions across the country. Carole was sought after as a boat driver in the competitions. She also entered and won many trophies in the ladies category trick skiing, slalom and jumping. Carole loved to entertain, hosting many parties over the years. She was a wonderful cook learning from her Italian mother many family recipes.

Survivors include: husband, Bobby Martin of Possum Kingdom Lake; son, David Martin and wife, Martha of Possum Kingdom Lake; granddaughter Holly Martin Simpson and husband Charles R. Simpson IV, of Dallas; great grandchildren Charles, Hampton and Vail. Granddaughter Jessica Martin.

She was preceded in death by son, Michael Martin and her brother Billy Mirgle.

Special heartfelt thanks to Carole’s caregivers Enedina Castro, Jennifer Castro, Star Lewis, Ernestina Fuentes, Donna McCarthy and Christy Tucker.
