Charley Sue Springs, 89, passed away peacefully Wednesday December 4th, 2024 in her hometown of Graham, TX. Visitation will be Saturday December 7th from 10am-12 noon at Morrison Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Graham at 2pm.
Charley was born August 21, 1935 in Goldthwaite, TX to the late Thelma (Long) Booker and Charlie Booker. She married the love of her life, Danny Springs, on Christmas Eve 1980 in Graham. They shared many adventures, laughs, dances, and memories together throughout their loving marriage until his passing in 2018. Charley took extreme pride in raising her 3 children and fully loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom meant the world to her.
Charley's love for the Lord was undeniable. She was a very proud and active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught adult Sunday school, sang in the choir, and looked forward to being in the yearly Living Christmas Tree. As a way to give back to her community, she was also instrumental in bringing the monthly Friendship Meal program to the Church and she proudly served for several years in the Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary in her pink coat (even if it didn't always match her outfit). Charley never let a family gathering pass by without photographs, and as a result she accumulated quite an impressive collection of photo albums throughout her life. She was also very passionate about flowers and gardening. There wasn't a spring that passed where you wouldn't find her outside filling numerous pots with all types of flowers. She always knew how to arrange them just right! She was independent when it came to her flower arrangements, but always knew Dan would be there willing to help with all of her other projects around the house. They truly made the best team. To many she's "Charley", to a few she's "Mom", to a blessed select she's "Nonnie", and to all she will be missed.
Survivors include; daughters, Jenna Hawkins and husband Rodney of Graham, Julie Eastman and husband Joe of Godley; son, David Williams and wife Debbie of Colleyville; step-children, Todd Springs and wife Adair of Bethlehem, GA., Troy Springs and wife Cindy of Diboll; grandchildren, Austin Hawkins and wife Kodi, Haley Lopez and husband James, Lauren Williams-Abel and husband Josh, Ryan Williams and wife Nicole; great-grandchildren Kate and Owen Lopez, George and Liam Hawkins, Emerson and Everett Williams, and Sawyer Abel; step-grandchildren, Danni Rea Springs, Bradley Springs, Jaden Springs, and Stone Springs.
Memorials may be made to Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary, First Baptist Church of Graham, Beyond Faith Hospice, or charity of your choice.
