Georgia Charlotta Hamilton 93, passed peacefully away on September 2, 2025. A celebration service of her life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church, Graham, Texas. The burial will follow at the Murray Cemetery in Young County.
Charlotta was born December 26, 1931 to the late Georgia and August Robinson. She graduated from Graham High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from the University of North Texas. She also received a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Consumer Sciences.
Charlotta married the late John Hamilton March 25, 1950, in Denton, Texas. They were married 64 years before John’s death in 2014. She and her husband John, taught in Keller ISD for 7 years and were teachers in the Big Spring ISD for 26 years. Charlotta was a life member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Texas Retired Teachers Association, and American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. She was a long-time member of the Murray Methodist Church and First Baptist Church in Graham, Texas. She was a member of the Silas Morton chapter of NSDAR and at one time, the longest running regent of DAR in the state of Texas. She also served with the Murray VFD and was Vice President of the Murray Community Cemetery Association.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Hamilton and Joanna Spiars and husband Tim, her sons David Hamilton and Stephen Hamilton, her grandchildren, Audrey Spiars, Austen and wife Tori Grace Spiars, Alyson and husband Tyler Chism, and Andrew Spiars. She also had 3 great grandchildren of whom she loved dearly, Lincoln and Scottie Spiars, and Baker Chism. Other survivors include her niece, Gwen Clay of Granbury, Texas.
