Christy Gae Bishop, 75, passed away Sunday, September 14th, 2025 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Her service will be Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Cliff Ozmun officiating. Burial will be in Pioneer Cemetery.
Christy was born April 29, 1950 in Plainview, Texas to the late Edward Gerald Bishop and Mildred Knox Bishop. Christy traveled the world living the life of a "military brat" with her Air Force family. She lived in France and Hawaii as well as many places across the United States. Because of her Dad's career, she attended four different high schools before graduating. She could read and translate Latin fluently and loved everything Roman. She attended Texas Women's University then transferred to The University of Texas in Austin where she graduated. She was a Registered Nurse and worked all of the nursing specialties from neo-natal to geriatric care for over 45 years, mostly in New Mexico. After she moved back to Graham in 2006 she worked for Helen Farabee MHMR for several years before retiring. Christy loved Texas and Graham and her Scots heritage. She was a serving member of Oak Street Baptist Church. Graham was "the only placed that never moved" in her mobile lifestyle and so it was always "home".
Survivors include son, Robert Olds and fiancé, Shelley, of Olney, son, Michael Olds of Wichita Falls, grandson, Parker Olds, of Olney and grandchildren, Bailey Spurlock, Madison Spurlock and Jackson Spurlock-Fenner; brother, Knox Bishop (Becky) of Graham, brother Greg Bishop (Donna) of Franklin, Pennsylvania, and nieces Arian Allen (Reg) of Keller, Texas, Ariel Eishen (lan) of Dallas, Texas. Nephews Adam Bishop of Franklin, Pennsylvania and Kyle Bishop (Sarah) of Christiansburg, Virginia.
She was predeceased by her parents Colonel Jerry & Mildred Bishop, and husband, Richard Olds.
Memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
Visitation will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
