Dortha Faye Lackey

Dortha Faye Lackey, 88, entered into her reward Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Abilene, Texas. A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, November 6, 2026, at Loving Cemetery in Loving, Texas.

Dortha was born October 27, 1938 in Archer County, Texas to Beatrice (Sadler) Lackey and Noah B. Lackey. She was a lifetime resident of Loving, Texas. Dortha was a retired leather tooler and a member of the Baptist Church. She was renowned for her beautiful quilts and crocheted creations. She was also an accomplished confectionist. She loved singing in church and tending her garden.

Survivors include: son Randy Bobbitt of Graham, grandchildren Jamie, Colby, Caden, Dewanna, and Tracy, sister Linda Wells of Abilene, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dortha was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Hughes, son Richard Bobbitt, sisters Virginia Baker, Peggy Damron, and Donna Rife, brothers Junior Lackey, Douglas Lackey and James Lackey.
