Dr. Peter Stanley Brown (“Pete”), 73, died peacefully at home on April 24, 2026, in Graham, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and unwavering love.
Pete was born on September 23, 1952 in Dallas, Texas, to Dr. Bobby and Sara Brown and grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where he met the love of his life, Sidney Cozby. He graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1971, received his bachelor’s degree form The University of Texas at Austin, and received his medical degree from Tulane Medical School. After getting married in 1981, Pete and Sidney moved to Graham where he began his career in family medicine and lived his best life in the community that he loved.
By day, Pete was a devoted doctor who cared deeply for his patients, often going above and beyond to serve them—not just medically, but personally. By night, he was a cowboy at heart and an avid sportsman, most at peace outdoors—whether working on his farm, roping, hunting, or simply enjoying the land he loved. He had a deep love for his friends, family, community, and his many (some might say too many) dogs.
Above all, Pete’s life was grounded in his faith in Jesus Christ. That faith guided the way he loved others, with kindness, humility, and quiet generosity. He didn’t seek recognition, but his impact was felt by countless people in his community. Patients became friends, and friends became family.
Pete shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with Sidney, whom he loved deeply and faithfully. Together, they built a life centered on love, laughter, and devotion to their four children, each of whom he was incredibly proud of. As a husband, father, and grandfather, Pete was patient, encouraging, joyful, and tender-hearted.
Those who knew Pete knew him as a man of deep character who was always genuine, kind, and selfless. Whether in his clinic, his home, or his community, he was the same man: someone who treated everyone with the same dignity, respect and care. He demonstrated the love of Christ to others and allowed His light to shine brightly to everyone who knew him.
He will be remembered for his warm smile, his sense of humor, and the way he made people feel seen, valued, and cared for. His life touched generations of families in Graham, and his absence leaves a space that cannot be filled.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Sara and Bobby Brown.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sidney; his four children and their spouses, Geren & Laura, Robert & Ellie, Jeffrey & Amy, and Rebecca & Lawson; and his thirteen grandchildren, Benjamin, Sara Frances, Peter, and Annie Brown; Bo, Kessler, Hutch, and Win Brown; Bennett, Elliott, and Finn Brown; and Gracie and Law Kluttz. He is also survived by his siblings, Beverley Dale and her husband Larry, and Kaydee Bailey and her husband Bill.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church.
