Elvert Gregory Lovelady

Elvert Gregory Lovelady, 75, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 in Graham. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Elvert was born on April 23, 1934 in Abilene to the late William Vester and Mary Halter (Wilson) Lovelady. He married Vernelle Idell on October 6, 1973 in Arcadia, California. She preceded him in death in 2009. Elvert was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving overseas in Japan. He received a Bachelor Degree in Business from the State of California University at Los Angeles. Elvert moved to Texas in 1978 from California and he was a retired IRS Agent.

Survivors include: step-daughter, Elizabeth Carpenter of Graham; step-sons, Brock Gibson and David Gibson both of Graham; brothers, Billy Vester Lovelady of Montana and Lee Ray Lovelady of California.

He was preceded in death by a step-son, Luke Gibson, brothers, Cecil Leon Lovelady, Carl Wilson Lovelady, and Burton Wade Lovelady, and sisters, Vesta Muriel Lovelady and Mary Mozelle Lovelady.
