Evon Ainsworth, 88, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023 at her home in Bryson.  Graveside will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 27, 2023 at Cottonwood Cemetery in Jack County.  Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Bryson.  Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

 

Evon was born January 14, 1935 in Newcastle, Texas to the late Theresa Mae (Jones) Bowen and Clarence Lonnie Bowen.  She married Veldie Ainsworth, July 9, 1951 in Eunice. New Mexico, he preceded her in death on May 4, 2019.  Evon moved to Bryson in 1954 from Post, Texas. She was a former employee of Orr Motor Company and Texas New Mexico Power Company.  Evon was a member of First Baptist Church Bryson and Graham Promenaders Square Dance Club for 25 years.

 

Survivors include; sons, Kim Ainsworth and wife Peggy of Bryson, and Michael Ainsworth and Domingo Castillo of Dallas; daughter Linda King and husband Dennis of Bryson; grandchildren, Robert Boyle and wife Jeleta of Hico, Richard Boyle and wife Amy of Graham, Nicholas Ainsworth of Dallas, Lindsay Michaelis and Kyle McPherson of McKinney, April Dyer of McKinney, Amber Blevins of McKinney, Becca and Dominic Fuhrman of Hico, Jacie Leasure of Newcastle, and Stephanie and husband Derek Miller of Colorado; Daughter-in-law Sally Cole of Denton; great grandchildren, Paydon Boyle, Payge and Tye Walls, Courtney, and Katie Boyle, Brady and Kennedy Michaelis, Makenna McPherson, Madison and Jordan Dyer, Aubry, Wesley, Levi Fuhrman, Marli Strawbridge, Baleigh Leasure; great great grandchild, Coppar Ray, Wheatley Wright and Trevor Shane Walls; brother-in-law Benjie Ainsworth and wife Donna of Graham; sister-in-law Lorene of Bryson, nephews, Keith Bowen and wife Anna of Van Alstyne and Dean Bowen of Bakersfield, CA.

 

Evon was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Ernest Houchin, brothers Lloyd Wallace Bowen and Abe Jerry Bowen, and a niece Brenda Joyce Sutton.

 

The family requested that memorials be made to Bryson First Church P.O. Box 280, Bryson, Texas 76427.

 

Family Visitation will be Wednesday July 26, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home.
