Frances Nell Shepard

Frances Nell Shepard, 97, passed away at her home Thursday September 25, 2025. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday September 30, 2025 at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.

Frances was born April 25, 1928 in Graham to the late Jewell Ethel (Browder) Chapin and Dewey Chapin. She was a lifetime resident of Graham and worked at City Hall for 22 years. Frances loved her co-workers and boss, Larry Fields. She was a member of Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years. She enjoyed bowling, playing Bingo, going to Las Vegas to play slot machines, and visiting with everyone, she never met a stranger. Her family was very dear to her. She doted on her three grandsons and five great grandchildren.

Survivors include; daughters, Karen Barner of Graham, Gail Kovar and husband Larry of Graham; niece, Ann Kniffen and husband Bennie of Fort Worth and their daughter Searcy of Fort Worth; grandsons, Robert Barner and wife Krista of Frisco, Matthew Barner and wife Amy of Brock, Seth Kovar of Atlanta, GA.; great grandchildren, Lauren Barner, Jackson Barner, Barrett Barner and Mallory Barner; great great grandson Ridge Barner; cousin, Sandra Doll and ex-son-in-law, Paul Barner; nephew Mark Shepard.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Bobby Shahan, husband of 65 years, Bob “Shep” Shepard, two sisters and their husbands Dottie and George Hardin, Libby and John Prusak.
