George Birdwell, Jr.

George Calvin Birdwell, Jr. 67, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Dallas, Texas.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Birdwell Family Cemetery, under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

George was born November 1st 1957, in Graham TX to the late Wanda (Shubert) and George Calvin Birdwell Sr.

He married the love of his life Caren Renea Gray on October 20th 1978. In 46 years together they raised 2 sons, George Calvin Birdwell III (Trey) and Blake Alan Birdwell.

George worked as the Production Superintendent for Bently Oil and Gas for 14 years. He and Caren started their own business Birdwell Enterprises in 1995 and it is still operating today.

George enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, and was an avid shooter. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed sharing that with both his sons. He coached them in 4-H shooting sports, baseball, football, and any other activity they were interested in. George and Caren loved to travel and sight see and would almost assuredly stop at a Casino along the way. George never shied away from a hard days work, but he always made time for friends and family. He was a friend, mentor, a coach, a father figure to many, and a beloved PaPa and a loving husband and father.

George is survived by his Wife Caren Birdwell of Graham.

His son Blake Birdwell and wife Natasha, Granddaughters Evaline, Caroline, Katherine Birdwell all of Graham.

Sister Connie Seay and nephews Jimmy and Linda Hanks, Jason and Missy Hanks, sister, Carol Chestnut and husband Ronnie, niece Jennifer and Blake Davis, nephew Ryan and Kelly McCarty, sister, Cammie Mullins and husband Gregg and Neice Taylor of North Richland Hills

George was preceded in death by Son Trey Birdwell, his mother and father, and in-laws Junior and Carolyn Gray.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
