Henry Middleton Bramlet Jr. of Graham went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2013 at the age of 89. A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at the Jean Baptist church in Jean, Texas.
Mr. Bramlet was preceded in death by his parents Henry Middleton Bramlet, Sr and Ella Mae Blue Bramlet and his brother, Pat Bramlet. Among the many who will dearly miss him include his wife, Alma Inez Bramlet of Graham; his four children Anita Mae Ertle and husband Tom of Brackettville, Texas; David Bramlet of Graham; Charles Bramlet and wife Nancy of Graham; James Bramlet and wife Mary of Cleburne, Texas; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-six great-grand children. Other survivors include his sister Leveta Sims and her husband Ernest of Mineral Wells, Texas; Rosa Jean Sims and her husband Jim of Temple, Texas; Nelda Hughes of Temple, Texas; sister-in-law Darlene Bramlet of North Richland Hills and his many nephews and nieces.
Mr. Bramlet joined the service on May 12 1943 and served with the 898th Field Artillery Battalion as a frontline surgical technician serving in operations in France and Germany, such as the Battle of the Bulge under General Patton. For his service, Mr. Bramlet's was awarded three Bronze Service Stars among other awards.
Henry Middleton Bramlet married Alma Inez Bramlet on February 23, 1947. They met at welcome back party for Henry when he returned from his overseas tour during World War II. He was considered the new boy in town, and when they met it was like love at first sight.
Henry life's work was devoted mostly to aeronautics. Soon after the war Henry went to work for CONVAIR in 1950. He worked on the assembly to build the wing section on the B36 strategic bomber. He continued his love for aeronautics when he went to work for Snow Aeronautics in Olney, Texas. He worked there for twelve years as a supervisor of the wing section for the Aero Commander crop duster. Henry Bramlet moved his family to Houston, Texas and started working for Grumman Aerospace. He worked as a sub-assembly technician for a variety of military aircraft and the Lunar Excursion Model (LEM). He retired from Grumman in 1992.
Henry was known as a hard-working man and who lived a simple life. He worked to provide the best life for his wife and children. He definitely had a big heart for all his family who he cared for deeply. Henry loved to play games and sports with his grand children and great grand children. He loved to create and sing his own jingles, and occasionally he would yodel. He was a happy man, who dearly loved his family.
