Hildegard "Hildy" Elizabeth Kaspar Todd

Hildegard Todd, 96, passed away on April 17, 2023, in Tyler, Texas. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, Texas, with Rev. Wendee Perceful officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham.

Hildy was born on October 24, 1926, in George West, Texas to Albert Samuel Kaspar and Clara Louise Kramer Kaspar. She was the last born of their six children, none of whom survive Hildy. After she graduated from George West High School at age 17, she followed her sister Ellen's example and enrolled in nursing school at Harden Junior College in Wichita Falls, Texas. She joined the Cadet Nurse Corps when it was authorized by Congress in 1943 to alleviate the nursing shortage in World War II. Hildy worked as a registered nurse in Graham for 30 years.

In 1947, she married James Nathan Todd, who predeceased her in 2000. They were married for almost 53 years. They had three children, who survive her: Sammy Todd, and wife Janet; Danny Todd, and wife Pam; and Elaine Vanderworth, and husband Mike. Also surviving her are her four grandchildren: Jason, Julie, Jennifer, and Kristofer, her ten great-grandchildren: Adam, Danielle, Teagan, Jacob, Van, Joshua, Emily, Brazos, Elija, and Ellie; and her great-great-grandson: Jeremiah (who was born on her 95th birthday). Hildy also had many nieces and nephews, whom she treasured.
