James "Sonny" Dake

James “Sonny” Alvin Dake, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025 in Weatherford. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Newcastle Cemetery.

Sonny was born September 16, 1943 to the late Oscar Vernon and Ima Lee (Douglas) Dake. He married Judy Kaye Corley on September 17, 1983. Sonny was a veteran of the United States Army and member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include: wife, Judy of Graford; daughter, Stacney Dake; son, Jeff Dake and wife Pam; sisters, Faye Brown and husband, Dalton and Wanda Skidmore, nephew Doug Pinkston and wife Penny, niece Wanda Faye Hill and husband, Dwayne; 2 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Leah Martin, nephews, David Brown and Tommy Pinkston, and brother in-law, James Skidmore.
