Jane Spring Hogan

Jane Spring Hogan, 91, passed away Saturday June 8, 2024 at her home in Graham.  A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday June 14, 2024 at First United Methodist Church.

Jane was born February 1, 1933 in Graham to the late Allie Lee (Schlittler)Moody and J.I. Moody, Sr.  

She was a member of the GHS Class of 1950. Jane attended college at The University of Texas in Austin receiving a degree in Education.  She earned her Teaching Certificate in September of 1956 in both Professional Elementary and Professional HS (7-12th). 

In 1967 Jane and her children return home and a 33 year career at GISD begins. She teaches PE and Health, coaches Volleyball and Track, and sponsors Cheerleaders at GHS. In 1972 Jane earns her Masters in Professional Counseling and is employed in that capacity full time from 1977 until her retirement in 2000. Never one to be still, she accepts a part-time counseling position at Bryson ISD from 2002-2007.

She married Jimmy Hogan December 28, 1977 in Graham.  He preceded her in death on March 5, 2024. Together they loved supporting the youth and sports programs of GISD.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church serving her congregation and community through the Samaritans, Stephen’s Ministries and volunteering at our local Crisis Center. 

She was a Pink Lady for the GRMC logging in 1000 volunteer hours.

Edythe Jane Moody Spring Hogan believed in people, service and living life to the fullest. She will be missed more than our hearts can imagine. 

Survivors include; daughter, Patti Spring Hornsey of Graham; son, Rusty Spring and wife Lynda of Graham; grandchildren Chance Hornsey and Kristin Spring.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Moody Spring and brother, J.I. Moody, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers-Morris (Bubba) Moody, Brad Lang, Jack Cody, Gordon Grubbs, Donnie Hogan, and Rex King.
