Jim Carter

James “Jim” Carter, 75, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 28, 2026 at his home surrounded by the love of his family and friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at 10 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.

Jim was born March 6, 1951 in Graham to Erma Lee (Cope) Gillespie and James Taylor Carter. He married Peggy Zordel October 16, 1976 in Norton, Kansas. Jim enjoyed story-telling, watching his “gray” western movies and spending time with his family and friends.

Jim was a man who never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others, turning even the briefest encounters into lasting friendships. Wherever he went, he built relationships that reflected his genuine kindness, warmth, and interest in people.

Through this gift, Jim created more than a circle of friends, he built an extended family. He was deeply loved by many and he loved them just as fully in return. His presence brought people together, and his friendships became a source of strength, laughter, and belonging for all who knew him.

Jim will be remembered for his generous spirit, his welcoming nature, and his ability to make others feel seen and valued. His legacy lives on in the countless friends he made and enduring bonds he helped create.
