Joe Mark McKinley

Joe Mark McKinley, 69, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Graham.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.

Joe Mark was born February 20, 1954 in Fort Worth to the late Joe Edward and Peggy Jean (Campbell) McKinley.  He was raised in Graham and graduated from Graham High School in 1973.  Joe Mark was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church.  After graduating, Joe Mark joined his father in the operation of the family business, McKinley Hardware, which closed in 1991.  He then continued management with his father at McKinley’s Gaslight Gallery.  Joe Mark was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and he was one of those people that never met a stranger and always wanted to know, “How you were”, and inquired about everyone’s family members.  Everyone that new him has a memory to tell about him.  Joe Mark McKinley was certainly one of a kind.

Survivors include: daughter, Marlayna McKinley of Cuero; step-daughter, Sharmon Hardee Bond of Abilene; sons, Ryan McKinley of Cuero and Tyler McKinley of Austin; step-sons, John Huckabee of Graham, Toney Wadley of Wichita Falls, and Dale Wadley of Clifton, Colorado; sister, Beth McKinley Prichard of Loving; nieces, Monica Harrison Crowley of Graham and Jessica Prichard of Graham; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wives, Vickie McKinley Arrell, Sandra Wadley McKinley, and Nancy Gentry McKinley.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Joe E. and Peggy McKinley Scholarship Fund.
