John Bryan, a true outdoorsman, was born on October 15, 1949, in Austin to the late Joyce (Granlund) Bryan and John Nathan Bryan, Jr. He made his home in Graham in 1980, where he married his beloved wife, Sherry Stephens, on July 29, 1983.
For over 30 years, John owned and operated the John Bryan Fishing Guide Service, taking countless clients on memorable adventures on the water. Whether it was casting a line into clear lakes or teaching a novice how to reel in the big catch, a day spent fishing with John was one filled with laughter, stories, and the thrill of the chase. An avid hunter as well, he often took friends and family into the woods, sharing his love for nature and the thrill of the hunt.
John proudly wore many hats throughout his life, including those of a cross-country truck driver, bulldozer operator, and ranch manager. His adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors were woven into every aspect of his life.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Sherry Bryan of Graham; daughter, Jean Lipford of Marianna, FL; sons, John Nathan Bryan, IV and wife Missy of Marianna, FL; Shawn Bryan and wife Erika of Graham; Patrick Bryan of Marianna, FL; Charles Hale of Jacksboro; and Austin Hale and wife Mary of Trinidad, CO. He was the proud grandfather of thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, whose lives he enriched with tales of fishing expeditions and hunting trips. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Bryan, and brothers Mike, Sterling, Larry, and Patrick Bryan.
John's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his passion for fishing and hunting will forever be cherished by all who shared those adventures with him.
