John Russell Caudill

John Russell Caudill, 81, died on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in Plano, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 1 at 2:00 p.m. at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

 

John was born on December 9, 1938 in Graham, Texas to the late Joe and Mamie (Burgess) Caudill. John is a graduate of Graham High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Air Force and then went on to pursue his love of computers with a 33-year career at Southwestern Bell in San Antonio and Dallas. John was a resident of Plano, Texas and a member of Christ Methodist Church and the local YMCA, where he enjoyed swimming and playing ping pong. He had the opportunity to travel the world and visit many countries in his lifetime. John’s favorite hobby was investing, and he also enjoyed finding interesting business opportunities. John loved taking videos, making home movies and treasured memories with his family. 

 

John is survived by his wife of 20 years, Claudia Strader Caudill of Plano, Texas; son Brent Caudill and daughter-in-law Suzy of Boerne, Texas; daughter Kindra Dozier and son-in-law Michael of Glacier Lake, Oregon; step-son Alan Musselman of San Francisco, California; grandson Ben Caudill of Boerne, Texas; grand-daughter Kaelyn Dozier of New Braunfels, Texas; brother Kyle Caudill of Granbury, Texas; sister Camilla Newman of Arlington, Texas; as well as several nieces.

 

John was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye Maples Caudill in 1998, and their daughter Julee in 1969. 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army.
