Johnnie Clifford Stallcup

Johnnie Clifford Stallcup, 85, of Gun Barrel City, Texas, passed away, June 11, 2009 in Texarkana. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mr. Stallcup was born on August 10, 1923 in Alvord and raised in Seagraves, Texas to the late Thomas and Mabel Stallcup of Graham. He was a World War II veteran and a prisoner of war in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion in Gun Barrel City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas Stallcup, Jr. of Graham, granddaughters, Nancy DePriest of Austin and Edith Batchelder of Fort Worth, son, Robert Hurley and grandson, Johnny Morrison, both of Gun Barrel City.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Stallcup of Gun Barrel City; daughters, Johnnie Hamm and husband Coye, Jeanette Popp and husband Jim all of Graham, Kay Stallcup, Cynthia Perkins and husband Dale, Kathy Calfey and husband Guy all of Gun Barrel City, Jo Ann Graham and husband Charles of Springtown, Shirley Batchelder and husband Bill of Fort Worth, and Rita Key and husband Mike of Wilksboro, North Carolina; sons, Lonnie White and wife Brenda, Charlie Spencer and wife Wanda all of Zanesville, Ohio; brothers, Edgar A. Stallcup and wife Kathy of Jefferson, Texas and Elmer Stallcup and wife Virginia of Gun Barrel City, Texas; 30 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was loved by all whose lives he touched and will be greatly missed.
