Jonathan "JJ" Maxwell Pierce

Jonathan “JJ” Pierce, age 32, passed away in Graham on Saturday, February 25, 2023. A private burial will be held by the family at Lynn Creek Cemetery.

JJ was born in Rockhill, South Carolina to Karen Pierce and Michael Baker on August 20, 1990. He was later taken in and raised by Debra and James Baker, who we knew as his parents and his step-father Robbie Reeves. He grew up in Jacksboro and later moved to Graham. He married Kira Elkins on April 4, 2013 and together they had two beautiful children, Michael Jay “MJ” Pierce and Emberlee Sky Pierce. The couple later divorced but remained best friends and continued to raise their children together.

JJ was a rare soul who tried to see the good in everyone, even if they didn't deserve it, and had a soft spot for kids. He loved his own kids more than anything else in his life and they love him unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by so many, rest in peace.

JJ is survived by the mother of his children, Kira Elkins of Graham; son, Michael “MJ” Pierce; daughter, Emberlee Pierce; sister Wendy Chambers of Henrietta; and step-father Robbie Reeves of Jacksboro. As well as his in-laws, Carol Corbett (MIL) and husband Brian Corbett; Howard Elkins (FIL); Michael Elkins (BIL) and wife Chelsie Elkins, Ashley Givens (SIL) and husband Dusty Givens; Mary Wilson (GmIL), Frances Beebe (GmIL) and husband Paul Beebe, Tiffany Elkins (SIL) along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles from both sides.

He is preceded in death by parents, Debra Baker, James Baker, and Michael Baker; grandmother Shirley Workman, Uncle Ronnie Crowley and William Wilson (GpIL).
