Joyce Cook

Marilla "Joyce" Cook passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023. A mass will be held at Saint Mary's Catholic Church on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at a later date in Deming, NM.

Joyce was born October 20, 1943 in Wellington, Texas to the late Walter King & Opal Harriett Floyd. She grew up in Deming, NM where she was involved in marching band & was chosen band sweetheart. Joyce was a retired bookkeeper who stayed busy walking her dog & visiting the ladies at Royal Oaks Apartments.

Joyce's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren. She was always their biggest cheerleader. She loved attending mass & volunteering at the Catholic Church as well as working backstage for 40 years at Renee's Dance Factory's performances.

Survivors include: daughter, Renee Hobson & husband, Mike of Graham; sons, Ron Cook & Rob Cook of Weatherford; grandchildren, Lindsay Wade & husband, Nelson of Granbury; Corrie Andrews & husband, Lance of Weatherford, Chelsea Cook of Houston; Caitlin Hughes & husband, Matt of Graham; Renora Moore of Anadarko, OK. She had 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son, Douglas Wayne Cook; parents, King & Opal Floyd, sister, Ruby Floyd and grandson, Nik Hobson.
