Growing up on a farm, Kay learned the value of a hard day's work at an early age- a lesson that became the cornerstone of her life which she instilled in her children and her grandchildren.

On October 18, 1956, Kay married Sam Martin and they made Graham, TX their home. Kay worked various jobs in her lifetime but her favorite job was working at Boaz Department Store. Going to Market to shop for the latest fashions and helping to care for her customers always kept a smile on her face. As the heart of our family, Kay poured endless hours and love into making her house a true home, where we were always welcomed home with a true southern homecooked meal. She Kept an extremely tidy home (where she would constantly move all the furniture around in the entire house all by herself just for a new look) kept a beautiful yard and had an abundance of plants and flowers to admire. Kay was always a busy bee from sunup to sundown, and it kept her young at heart.

Kay cherished being a mother to her daughter Cynthia Lois Martin Goad of Big Spring, TX, and son Samuel Joe Martin of Graham, TX, but her truest joy in life was being a Grandmother to Misty(Michael) Pugh of Breckenridge, TX, Mandy(John) Haynes, Bobby(Tiffany) Goad of Big Spring, TX, Jennifer(Chad) Akers, Joe Ray(Chelsea) Martin and Kati Martin all of Graham, TX, 11 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great granddaughter.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam Martin, great-grandsons Sgt. Zachary Youngblood and Tommy Martin. Sister & brother-in-law Vetta & Hazel Underwood, brother-in-law Robert Huffman, sister-in & brother-in law Faye & Charlie Martin.

In addition to her children and grandchildren, Kay is survived by her Sisters Billie Huffman of Houston TX, Esther (Mario)Coronado Sr of Brownwood, TX, brother Bobby (Sharon)Phillips of Nacogdoches, TX. Nieces and Nephews that she loved dearly and several cousins.

"She planted seeds of love in our hearts, and her garden will bloom forever."
