Kenneth B. Hoggard (11/2/1938-09/10/2025)
Kenneth was born in Young County, Tx to JB and Bula Mae (Ball) Hoggard. Growing up on the family farm & ranch with his younger brother, Ted, the two were often found tinkering in the barn. Once upon finding them having taken apart an engine, their Uncle Milton told them their dad was going to tan their hides to which Kenneth replied, “No he won’t. We’ll have it running by dinner.”
Kenneth attended Graham High School. After graduation, he joined the Army where he was a marksman and manned the missiles during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He received the Presidential Meritorious Unit Commendation Award and multiple other awards. After his service in the Army, he worked for Hexcel in Graham and then went to work for PPG where he was employed for 27 years. Upon “retirement” he worked as oil producer in partnership with Lonnie Wales. Kenneth enjoyed attending auctions and was just as likely to bid on a $30,000 piece of farm equipment as he was a $5 pallet of partially used paint cans. He was a Rancher and owned land in Loving, Markley, Indian Mound, and Farmer, Texas all of which proudly display the proceeds of his auctions. Burgess auction will no doubt miss him as much as his family and friends will.
Kenneth was a unique individual. He was quiet and often kept to himself. He was passionate about his political beliefs and his mailbox was always full of flyers from the Republican Party which he staunchly supported. He was an avid reader and also enjoyed watching documentaries. He was a gun collector and in fact, a collector of many things.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, JB and Bula Mae Hoggard. He is survived by his brother, Teddy Hoggard (Shirley) of Wichita Falls, TX: nephew, Kevin Hoggard (Christine) of Bay City, TX: Niece, Cyndi Hoggard Burk (Curtis, deceased) of Wichita Falls, TX; great nephews, Joshua Hoggard (Amber, Ellie, Norah) of Wichita Falls and Michael (Hudson & Liam); great niece, Tiffani Couch (De’Jioun, Jazzlyn, Kyran), and many cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 15, 2025 at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, Tx at 10:00am, Pastor Tim Ferris officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Mound Cemetery.
