Leatha Faye Gray

Leatha Faye Gray, 92, passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 in Graham. Funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, December 11, 2023 at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Newcastle Cemetery.

Faye was born December 26, 1930 in Graham to the late Mose Monroe and Lillie Bell (Minor) Roberts.

Leatha Gray, known by Faye, Mom, or Granny to those who loved her was a light to those who knew her. She loved her family, by birth or chosen, unconditionally and always had room for one more.

Faye was resourceful and a hard worker from a young age. She worked full-time while raising four children, her grandchildren, and many others that needed a loving home. Faye always had a special place in her heart for her animals which, over the years included a raccoon, a crow, numerous cats and dogs, and most recently her beloved dog Rusty.

Faye is survived by: Sons, William E. Isham of Graham and Cecil R. Isham of Southbend; siblings, Delois Brown of Newcastle, Carl Roberts of Odessa; and Grandchildren, Kimberly and Dale Eaton of Rule, Kelzye (Isham) and Stephen Bedwell of Wisconsin, Katelynn Lee and Trenton of Bryson, Aubrie Isham of Graham, and Catherine Souder of Washington; and numerous Great-Grandchildren.

Faye was preceded in death by: Siblings, Doris Cox, Lucille Cox, Mary Beauchamp, and Wayne Roberts; Her children Carlos Cates, Claud Isham and Debbie Smith; and Grandson CR Isham.

Visitation will be held Sunday December 10, 2023 from 5 to 7 pm at the Morrison Funeral Home.
