Lila Rose Hibbitts

Lila Rose Hibbitts, 91, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at her home in Graham. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Lila was born March 26, 1930 in Luling to the late Gilbert Arthur Newby and Rosa Elzada (Pickard) Cencebaugh. She married H.M. “Mack” Hibbitts May 12, 1950 in Breckenridge and he preceded her in death March 3, 1986. To know Meme was to love her. She loved watching her grandchildren rodeo and play sports of any kind. She would travel to the end of the world to watch them and knew better than any ref around. If you ever pulled up to the the house in the summer you more than likely saw Meme with a folded paper towel Bobby pinned to her hair and a hoe in her hand, hard work was her favorite thing. She would tell you she never worked a day in her life. She never met an animal she didn’t love. She may have inherited a few here and there. Meme was loved by all and will forever be missed.

Survivors include: daughters, Phyllis Ethridge of Graham, Susie Fulbright and husband, Steve of Jacksboro, and Julie Ruddy of Graham; brother, Mike Newby and wife, Gayle of Canton; grandchildren, Kobi Gowin and husband, Mike, Hollye Allred and husband, Coby, Ryon Ethridge and wife, Sabrina, Kayla Blair and husband, Chris, and Kea Darden and husband, Kyle, and 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by grandson, Chad Ruddy and son-in-laws, James Ethridge and Sammy Ruddy.

Visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
