Bob and Rochelle Goree were married for 49 years before his passing on December 20, 2018. Rochelle and Bob worked in the auction business in Roswell, New Mexico, and Amarillo, Texas, for 60 years. Owning and operating Bob Goree Auctioneers was a passion pursued by both Bob and Rochelle. Rochelle loved her Lord, family, church, Sunday School class, friends, business, customers, pets (most especially that cantankerous Westie, Zoie), and her life in Amarillo; she was an active member of Amarillo’s Oasis Southwest Baptist Church.
Nana’s favorite pastime was taking her grandchildren to Fun Valley, Colorado, each summer for fishing, bike riding, hiking, playing, endless rounds of Phase 10, and sightseeing through the mountains. Rochelle and Bob loved attending their grandchildren’s events, from sporting events to academic and social endeavors, they were always willing to actively support and encourage their interests. She enjoyed attending Texas and National Auctioneer Conventions with Bob and friends. Hosting the annual New Year’s Day Auction was a highlight of their business that they worked diligently to do well together. She was always a hard worker.
Rochelle was a wonderful and supportive wife, mom, and Nana. Nana, as she was most affectionately known, was patient, obedient, loving, empathetic, and loyal. Her sister Bettie shares, “Rochelle’s life and love was Bob and his family. She loved the Lord, too!” Her late son-in-law, Coke Hopping, often professed, “She will have many rubies on her crown in heaven.”
Visitation will be held at Morrison Funeral Home, 700 Oak Street, Graham, Texas, on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with services following at 2:30 pm, with Bradley Speer officiating.
A celebration will be held at Rochelle’s home church, Oasis Southwest Baptist Church, in the coming months; date TBD. Future interment will be at Amarillo's Llano Cemetery.
A sincere thank you to Relin Upton, Maricel Sumoguid, Ashlyn Schoonover, Caitlin Choat and to the many gifted Beyond Faith Hospice medical professionals who assisted Dancey in the compassionate and superior care for Rochelle during her walk towards Heaven.
