Linda Hooper

Linda Gail Hooper, 79, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at her home in Granbury. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 2 p.m. in the Graham Church of God. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery.

Linda was born on April 17, 1947, to Otha and Dollie Rogers. She was the youngest of nine children, so she was never bored. Growing up, she spent her days playing with her siblings around the train tracks and riding the pump jacks, making memories that she would carry with her throughout her life.

In her early twenties, Linda met her husband, David, and it was love at first sight. The two were married in June of 1969 and began building a life and a family together. They welcomed their first daughter, Lynn, the following year and their second daughter, Adrianne, four years later. Lynn and Adrianne quickly became the light of Linda’s world.

Linda devoted her days to raising her baby girls and creating a home filled with love. Some of her happiest memories were made together as a family, spending many days on the river, laughing, playing, and making memories that would last a lifetime.

David was a hard-working provider who worked multiple jobs at times so he could take care of his family and spoil his wife. He knew one of Linda’s favorite things was a beautiful purse, and he would sometimes bring home a new purse with every paycheck just to see her smile. Linda loved her purses, and David loved making sure she had plenty of them.

After David’s retirement, the couple moved to Granbury, Texas, to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. It was there that Linda continued what would always be her most important role—being Granny. And not just to her own grandchildren, but to everyone. Once you were part of Linda’s family, you were loved, protected, and cared for like you had always belonged.

Linda was a woman with a stubborn personality and a voice that was never afraid to be heard. She was outspoken, curious, and always wanted to know the latest news around town. She could tell you what was going on before you even knew there was anything going on. But beneath that strong personality was a woman with an even bigger heart. Linda was a caretaker by nature and fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren. She loved her family deeply and would do just about anything for them.

Linda had eight grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life: Jeffrey, Kelsey, Blake, Cheyenne, Trey, Breanna, Makayla, and Brianna. Then came her great-grandchildren, who filled her heart even more: Acelynn, Brodie, Rhyder, Paisley, Emersyn, River, Knyla, Evelyn, and Oakley. Her family was her greatest treasure, and watching it grow was one of the greatest joys of her life.

Linda’s hobbies were simple because, to her, the best things in life involved family. She loved going out to eat with her sisters at their favorite Mexican restaurant, spending time together and catching up on everything. And if someone mentioned a late-night trip to the casino, Linda certainly wasn’t going to turn it down.

Linda was a nocturnal Granny, to say the least. She loved sitting on her porch swing late into the evening, watching the small-town traffic go by. When it was finally time for bed, she could often be found watching Nancy Grace or Family Feud while coloring a few pages or working on a word search book. And, of course, Granny was always prepared for a midnight snack. Her bubble gum was always on the headboard, right alongside her peanut patties—because you can’t be nocturnal without keeping a snack within reach.

Linda was a woman who found happiness in the little things: a family meal, a conversation with her sisters, a night at the casino, a new purse, a snack by the bed, or simply sitting on her porch swing watching the world go by. But more than anything, she found happiness in her family.

Of the nine Rogers children, Linda has now joined five of her siblings in Heaven, along with her beloved parents, Otha and Dollie. She leaves behind three sisters who will carry her memory and the love they shared throughout the years.

Linda passed away peacefully at her home in Granbury, Texas, surrounded by the loved ones who meant the most to her. She was exactly where she belonged—at home, surrounded by family.

Linda leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family who adored her, and a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Though her chair on the porch may be empty, her family will forever hear her voice, remember her stories, laugh at her stubborn ways, and feel the love and protection she gave so freely.

She was Lynn and Adrianne’s mother, eight grandchildren’s Granny, nine great-grandchildren’s great-grandmother, a sister, a wife, a caretaker, and the heart of a family that was lucky enough to call her theirs.

Linda will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
