Lola "Pat" Swiger

Mrs. Lola "Pat" Swiger, age 76, of Graham, Texas passed away on November 3, 2008 in her home. The family will hold a local visitation at Morrison Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by burial in Mena, Arkansas on Friday, November 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Pat was born on July 18, 1932 in Oklahoma City to the late Richard and Bonnie O'Neill. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School where she was active in leading the Coyote band and many other school groups. After a grand presentation to society as a debutant in the Wichita Falls chapter of the Junior Society, Pat went on to attend Midwestern State University on scholarship with the band as a Majorette.

Pat married the man who she says swept her from her feet, Lloyd F. Swiger on November 3, 1951. Her marriage was the first step on her many travels around the United States and then the world as an Air Force military wife. Pat gave birth and raised three sons while still traveling to different countries and bases in the United States. She proudly made a home in each location to support her children and husband during his active duty. Pat and her husband settled in Graham, Texas in 1967 to raise their sons together.

Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd F. Swiger of Graham; three sons, Clint Swiger and wife Diane of Graham, Richard Swiger and wife Betsy, and Dennis Swiger and wife Terri of Arlington; two grandsons, Eric Swiger and Matthew Swiger; two granddaughters, Amy Huffman and Krissy Redding. She was also able to celebrate one great-grandson and two great-granddaughters.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or charity of your choice.
