Lucky Ingram

Lucky Ingram, 66, passed away on August 3, 2025. The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 6, at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery in Graham. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Morrison’s Funeral Home Chapel.

Lucky was born and adopted on February 20, 1959, by Bob and Peggy Ingram. He married Vonne Rodgers on May 24, 1980, in Gorman, TX. They had two daughters, Melody Ingram and Harmony Chestnut, both of Graham.

Lucky and Vonne became a Pappy and Nonny to Duke Chestnut in 2016 and Tatum Chestnut in 2020.

He graduated from Graham High School in 1978. He worked in the oilfield and service station business for his dad. After earning a Bachelor of Music degree from Midwestern State University, he became a band director, working in Graham, Jacksboro, Breckenridge, and Terrell.

He spent most of his life in Young County and enjoyed fishing, hunting, politics, and the Texas Rangers. He also loved spending time with his two grandchildren.  Lucky was a member of Eastside Church of Christ Graham.

In 2020, after taking a DNA test with Ancestry.com, he discovered he had a full-blood sister, Vickie Treadway. After contacting her, they discovered they had many similarities. They were both abandoned at birth by their biological parents—Vickie in Arkansas, and Lucky in Graham. They were both adopted by hospital workers and, much to their surprise, both became band directors. They had five years to get to know each other and their respective families.

Survivors include: his wife of 45 years, Vonne Ingram; daughters Melody Ingram and Harmony Chestnut and husband J.B., all of Graham; sister Bobette Bone and husband Mike of Sulphur, LA; sister Vickie Treadway and husband Bob of Cottleville, MO; grandchildren Duke and Tatum Chestnut of Graham; aunt Mary Reed and husband Jack of Graham; uncle Bill Ingram of Monahans, TX; aunt Ann Boyles of Mineral Wells, TX; aunt, Thelma Ingram of Graham, TX; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Lucky was preceded in death by: his parents, Bob and Peggy Ingram; brother, Ricky Ingram;
