Luella "Lou" Clarke

The Lord called home his servant, Luella (Lou) Clarke on March 7. She was born in Cunningham, KS on October 23, 1931 to Frank and Allie Fischer. She married John Clarke on October 20, 1958.  Rosary will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 7 p.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral mass will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

John and Lou lived in Oklahoma where their first 3 children, Vickie, Teresa and John, Jr. were born. They moved to Mineral Wells, where their fourth child, Alan was born. Lou was a loving mother. She was involved in their activities, being a Girl Scout leader, religious education teacher, and PTA president. She would cheer her children on at their sporting events, choir and band recitals, and whatever else they were involved in. She has always been a spiritual woman and was involved at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church as Altar Society president, CCD teacher, and Eucharistic Minister.

After Alan graduated from high school, Lou joined John in Milan, Italy. They lived there and in London, England for several years. Then they started Jonell, Inc. in Breckenridge where Lou was Chief Financial Officer. They moved to Graham and became involved at St. Mary Catholic Church as Eucharistic Minister, outreach, parish council and women’s council. After she retired, she worked with her daughter, Vickie, at Thrive! Physical Therapy as office manager. When she turned 80, she decided to retire again, though she continued to fill in as needed for several years thereafter.

Lou was a loving, generous woman with a strong faith in the Lord. People who spent time with her soon loved her. She was a wonderful mom, grandma and great grandma. She loved spending time with her immediate and extended family, hosting many holiday and reunion events. She was excited that a great-granddaughter was named after her.

Lou is predeceased by her parents, brothers Clarence Fischer and Arthur Fischer, and sisters Pauline Ohl and Helen Renner.

Lou is survived by her husband John of Graham, daughter Vickie Keller and husband Darrell of Graham, daughter Teresa Copp and husband David of Roanoke, son John Clarke, Jr. and wife Julie of Mineral Wells, son Alan Clarke and wife Shirley of Mineral Wells; sister, Fran Treece of Wichita, KS.  She has 10 grandchildren- Anthony Cannella, Vincent Cannella, Laura Copp, Alexandra Gallagher, Rebecca Copp, Katy Duvall, Molly Tanner, Caroline Clarke, Chris Clarke and Cortney Clarke. She has 9 great grandchildren with one on the way.

The family is appreciative to Janet Few, Seniorly Yours, and Solaris Hospice for the care of Lou. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Solaris Hospice or a charity of your choice.
