Mary Jane Byerly

Mary Jane Byerly, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at her family home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Medlan Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Mary Jane was born in Young County October 22, 1931 to the late James W. and Alma Akers. She married her high school sweetheart, Walter Byerly, in Graham on December 23, 1950 at First Baptist Church in Graham Texas. She was a life time member of FBC where she faithfully served as Sunday School teacher and wherever she was needed. She was a good business woman and had her own Employment Agency among many other jobs at which she was proficient and successful. She loved working with people, entertaining at her home and being hospitable to many people moving into the community. Her greatest love was her family and sharing the gift of salvation with anyone she came in contact with. She has joined the love of her life of 69 years, Walter Byerly.

She is survived by two daughters, Sylvia Byerly of Fort Collins, Colorado and Jan Crow and husband John of Graham; one son Scott Byerly of Graham; Seven grandchildren, Beraiah Logan and husband Alex of Anchorage Alaska, Chance Crow and wife Shara of Cuero, Tx, Joshua Crow and wife Sarah of Meridian, Tx, MacKenzie Crow and husband Jaye of Cincinnati, OH, Misty Seales of Fayetteville, AR, Sloan Byerly of Austin, TX, and Sam Byerly of Graham. She also has 6 great grandchildren; Maverick, Marston, Marshal, Samuel, Rachel Crow and Harlow Travis.

She is preceded in death by her husband Walter Byerly, her mother and father James W and Alma Akers, her brothers, Jim Akers and Billy Fred Akers.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
