Minnie Faye Bray

Minnie Faye Bray, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 in West Plains, Missouri. Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Medlan Chapel Cemetery in Young County, Texas under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.


Minnie was born September 16, 1931 in Ellisville, Texas to the late Dr. William H. and Lillie (Gilmore) Martin. She married Amos Lewis October 1954 in Wichita Falls, Texas and then to Landrus Bray July 9, 1959 in Henrietta, Texas and both preceded her in death.

Minnie loved life to the fullest, she loved her family and loved spending time with them. Minnie loved talking about her brothers and sisters telling stories about her child hood. Minnie was a christen and loved God and loved talking about God. She loved reading her bible daily and she prayed for everyone every day. She never met a stranger in her life time and everyone was a friend and someone she could talk to and she always saw the best in everyone no matter what. She loved to cook pies and cakes and always wanted to share them with everyone. She would make a cake or pie and call the local first responders to come and get it and they would in the ambulance no less. She always had a hug for everyone it could even be a stranger and she would give them a hug. She said that everyone deserves a many hugs a day and she said it was the best medicine they could get. It gave her great joy to see the leaves changing color in the fall and would say a million times how beautiful they are. This was her favorite season. Now Minnie can have all the Godiva chocolate covered strawberries and tea and see all the beautiful colors she wants.

Survivors include: daughter, Leta Behning Grandsons Wade Behning, and wife Shanae , Brent Behning and girlfriend Katy Bland all West Plains MO, Todd Behning wife Joelle Fort Worth Texas, and five great grandchildren Quincy Behning, Emma Chapman, Joel Behning, Garrett Behning, Eliana Behning and many nieces and nephews.

Minnie is preceded in death by her father and mother Dr. William H. and Lillie Martin, brother Billy Doc Martin, wife Viola, Johnny Martin and wife Johnnie, sister Lois Choate husband Gus, sister Pearl Crabtree and husband Mark, Flora Wright and husband A.L., son-in-law Richard Behning, nephews Glenn Wright, Johnny Crabtree, Mark Crabtree Jr.
