Miritha Faye Caperton, 82, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at her home in Graham. A celebration of life will be held Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in South Bend.
Miritha was born August 27, 1942 in Knox City to the late J.W. and Merle Dean (Richards) Frazier. She married Sammy J. Caperton on November 10, 1962 in North Nichols Hills, Oklahoma. Miritha was a teacher for Graham ISD for 29 years where she taught first and second grade. She taught three generations of children to read.
Miritha loved the Lord and attended the First Baptist Church in South Bend for 40 years where she served as the pianist. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She doted on her family and friends and loved hosting big gatherings. She loved to cook and her daughters were able to capture her favorite family recipes. Miritha was artistic and she loved to create with quilting becoming her passion late in life. She loved bright colors and complex patterns.
Survivors include: husband, Sammy Caperton of Graham; daughters, Elizabeth (Liz) Buckalew and husband, Troy of Euless and Rebecca (Becky) Ford and husband, Tim of Collinsville; son, Samuel Caperton and wife, Brigitte of Collinsville; sisters, Judy Barlow of Ocala, Florida and Glenda Rogers and husband, Tommy of Breckenridge; brother, Jimmy Frazier and wife, Lori of Abilene; grandchildren, Nolan Bay and wife, Sarah of Houston, Ben Ford of Mineral Wells and Jessica Dwyer and husband, Brandon of Tioga; great grandchildren, Thomas and Matthew Dwyer of Tioga; numerous other extended family.
Miritha's favorite hymn was Victory in Jesus, and we have confidence she has found her victory.
