Olene Mitchell Thorne

Olene Mitchell Thorne, 90, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday, February 13, 2026 in Graham. The family will receive friends for an informal come and go visitation from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday February 28, 2026 at Morrison Funeral Home.

Olene was born October 4, 1935 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the late Olan and Ione “Tommy” Mitchell. Olene was a private person, but loved her family deeply. You could always find her at the First United Methodist Church volunteering. She loved helping with the youth, Friendship Meals, Our Daily Bread and prayer and squares. Her favorite activity was working in the Community Garden. She spent many a day shelling black eyed peas with the help of her great grandkids Camden and Jot Thorne. She was an active member of the Graham Regional Hospital Auxiliary, “Pink Ladies.”

Olene is survived by son Andy Thorne; grandchildren, JOT Thorne and wife Melanie, Clayton and Tracey Thorne, Barrett and Emma Thorne and daughter Lauren Thorne and fiancé Marquis Geater; great grandchildren Camden, JOT III, Fallon, Logan, Charlotte and Walker Thorne; nieces, Cathy Alexander and Cindy Brannan and husband Rick.

Olene was preceded in death by her parents, son James Thorne, daughter Michelle Isbell, sisters Etta Jo Mitchell, Carolyn Cox, brothers Bill and Kenny Mitchell.
