Pat Routon

Pat Routon, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Visitation will be Friday January 7, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home. Graveside funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 8, 2022 at Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery in Abilene, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Pat was born April 4, 1946 in Abilene to the late Linda Lorene (Diggs) and Melvin Claude Routon. Pat attended Tarleton State College in Stephenville. He married Sherry Zips, July 24, 1965 in Lueders, Texas. Pat was a retired Chemical Sales Engineer. Pat loved his family and showed it by his hard works to provide. He was a very respected business man and a good friend to all. He was known to be a fair person and a good man by many. He loved the Lord and his church family at Jean United Methodist Church. He spent a lot of time through the years fishing, hunting and raising cattle. He just became a great grandfather to Payton and Kaiden, who called him "PaPa".

Survivors include; wife, Sherry Routon of Loving; daughters, Dina Routon of Hawley, Deborah Redden and husband Michael of Abilene; grandson, Patrick Dixon and wife Katie; two great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Routon of Stamford; sister, Linda Claudale Jones of Odessa; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Pat was preceded in death by a brother David Lynn Routon.
