Patsy Gay Montgomery passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in Fort Worth.  Patsy was born April 15, 1931 in Iowa Park, Texas to Thelma and Otis Gay. Patsy attended Iowa Park High School and graduated from Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth.

 

Patsy met Joe Montgomery in Fort Worth and they married in 1952.  Joe was offered employment with Graridge in 1957 and the young family of four moved to Graham.  It is here, in this unique small town they raised their four children and spent 65 wonderful years together.

 

“Nannie” was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother! Her time with her family and Joe was always precious.  She was an active member of Samaritans and United Methodist Women at First United Methodist Church and various other community organizations.

 

Patsy taught in Graham for many years and touched lives of students who continued to keep in touch with her over the years. 

 

One of her many joys in life was getting to see her ex-students blossom and grow into adulthood. She always enjoyed reconnecting with them.

 

Those who loved her best and will miss her most include her husband Joe Montgomery; son Mike Montgomery and wife Kathy; son Greg Montgomery and wife Rena; daughter Susie Montgomery White and husband Barry; son Neal Montgomery; grandchildren:  Sarah Beth Simmons and husband Jordan, Caroline Fernandez and Husband Eric, Matthew Montgomery and wife Casey, Scott Montgomery, Sydney Montgomery, R.B. White, Joseph White, Josh Montgomery and wife Tiffany, Laura Dies and husband Jordan, Taylor Thompson, Wade Thompson; great-grandchildren: Mason Montgomery, Evie Montgomery, Lottie Montgomery, Camila Fernandez, Jackson Montgomery and three great-grand children on the way!

 

Memorials can be donated to United Methodist Women or Samaritans of First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 88, Graham, Texas 76450 or Youth of Mt. Zion Church, Attention Andi Tate, P.O. Box 313, Graham, Texas 76450.

 

Private family graveside will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 in Pioneer Cemetery and a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
