Petey Moody

Petey Moody

Petey Moody, aka James Irl Moody, III, came into this world surrounded by a loving family on August 2, 1955. He left this world for his heavenly home surrounded by his siblings on November 10, 2022.

Petey was loved by many for his charm and wit or for being a big curmudgeon. He spent many happy days at Graham High School, West Texas State University and Possum Kingdom Lake. He was happiest among his friends, sharing laughs, shenanigans and beer. He also loved Texas Aggie football and the Dallas Cowboys. His Possum Hollow family was so very dear to his heart.

Awaiting his arrival in heaven was his son, Jamey (James Irl Moody, IV), his parents, JI, Moody, Jr. and Gerry and his dearest friend, Karen Evans Robertson.

Left to share his stories are his siblings, Missy Moody, Morris (Bubba) Moody and Becky Moody Phillips, all of Graham and his niece, Blythe (and Tylor) Cavender of Thrall and his nephew, Max Phillips of Dallas. Deeply saddened by his passing is his favorite aunt, Jane Moody Hogan. Also treasuring his memory are several cousins and six greats.

His siblings are grateful for the love and care given Petey by Dr. Pete Brown and his staff, Beyond Faith Hospice and Robyn and her staff at Seniorly Yours.

A celebration of Petey’s life will be held at the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. officiated by Jimmy Senkel. Memorials can be made to the Young County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
