Ronny Gerald Leach, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at his home in Young County. Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Gilmore Cemetery in Young County.
Ronny was born May 3, 1941 in Childress, Texas to the late Paul Elmer and Virginia Lorraine (Couch) Leach. He graduated from Childress High School in 1959 and then Southwestern State College Pharmacy School in 1963. He worked in several pharmacies around Texas and later returned to Childress where he established Leach Drug in 1969. He was very active in the Childress community raising his 3 girls there, running his business, and serving on several leadership boards.
Ronny married Loretta Gilmore on November 11, 1984 in Graham, Texas where he worked at Jordan Pharmacy until he retired. Alongside Loretta, Ronny built a beautiful life working cattle, training and riding cutting horses, forming lifelong friendships, and entertaining grandkids with milkshakes in the kitchen, fishing in the creek, and four-wheeler rides in the pasture. He was always ready to make Loretta’s ideas into realities- building garden beds, chicken coops, and whatever else she could dream up. Ronny was always the life of the party, capturing the crowd with his story telling where he often had a hidden joke that he would sneak into the story just when he had you hooked. He was strong, confident, smart, fun, and funny. Whether you know him as Ronny, Daddy, or Papa, he will be greatly missed by all.
