Sebastian F. Serrano

Sebastian F. Serrano, 94 passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in Graham, Texas. Funeral mass will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 at 10am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Sebastian was born on December 8, 1928 in Marfa, Texas to the late Teodora Flores Serrano and Preciliano Serrano. He married Esperanza Tarango on October 2, 1954 in Chihuahua, Mexico. He retired from 20 years of service in the United States Army then 20 years of service with Southern Pacific Railroad.

He was a kind and loving husband to his wife “Pelancha” and his daughter, Ana. He was fondly referred to as “Paino” (godfather) and “Tio Tani” (uncle Tani). Terms of endearment from family.

Aside from his love of family, he was passionate about giving back. He was a servant at heart and there was nothing he couldn’t or wouldn’t do for you. He formed unbreakable bonds with the children in his life. He was their #1 fan always there to offer love, support and encouragement. He became a father and grandfather figure to many. His sense of humor was one of his greatest features. In any given situation he would come up with a comment that would leave the room in stitches. His love of people showed in all he said and did in the full life he lived. He has left such a beautiful impact on so many lives.

Survivors include: daughter, Ana Rogers and husband, George of Graham; granddaughters, Taylor Bennett and husband, Rhett of Fort Worth and Kelly Gant and husband, Andy of Burleson; great grandchildren, Asher Green, Grant Bennett, Belle Bennett, and Phoebe Gant.

Rosary will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. and visitation will follow until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home Chapel.
