Teresa Diane Hysmith

Teresa Diane Gallien Hysmith was born on January 12, 1959 in Palacios, Texas to Gilbert Warren and Frances (Webster) Gallien. She passed away March 24, 2021 at her home in Loving, TX.

Teresa had a wonderful life filled with love for her family and friends. Over her life she developed lifetime friends that she called extended family from Texas to California to Ukraine.

Teresa was a member of Oak Street Baptist Church and active with children ministry and AGAPE. She looked forward to her AGAPE visits that gave her a chance to love on those who were home bound. Teresa loved children and was instrumental with the creation of Oak Street’s LAF (Life Action Faith) program. She treated every child as if they were her own.

She traveled on numerous mission trips and loved sharing with others about her Lord and Savior. She loved our church in Ukraine and always enjoyed visiting and working with the people there. Her last mission trip was to Rockport, TX where she assisted with the Hurricane Harvey cleanup.

Teresa’s chosen career was a Respiratory Therapist and provided home health care throughout most of North Texas. She loved to visit, help and love on people who could not care for themselves.

She loved to cook for her immediate family and always had supper prepared each evening for her husband and two boys. Many times, evening meals included the boy’s friends. AGAPE gave her a chance to cook and provide meals after her boys moved away from home.

Teresa is survived by her husband of 43 years Bill Hysmith, two sons William Hysmith and wife Ashley of Loving, TX and Travis Hysmith and wife Keri of Montgomery TX, adopted daughter in love Tamara Roye and family of Jermyn, TX. Six grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Tanden, Allison, Raelynn and Brinlee; father, Gilbert Warren Gallien of Graham and sister, Sherry Berger and husband, Ray of Giddings.

She was preceded in death by her mother Frances Gaillien and nephew Garrett Avery Hysmith.

Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 PM in Oak Street Baptist Church in Graham, TX on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Morrison Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Loving Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Oak Street Baptist Church's Children's Ministry or Beyond Faith Hospice.
