Thad Lee Monroe

Thad Lee Monroe, 67, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at home in Jack County. Services will be held at a later date.

Thad was born November 7, 1954 in Wichita Falls to the late Rex Weldon and Vyrtle Laverne (Bilderback) Monroe. He was a Long Haul Truck Driver for IWX Motor Freight. Thad served on the USS Midway and the USS Saratoga during his time in the U.S. Navy. Thad enjoyed his annual trip to Sturgis with Bob, particularly riding the Iron Mountain Road and the Needles Highway. They frequently talked about the beautiful landscapes and how much fun they had every year.


Survivors include: son, Dakota Bob Monroe and wife, Tessa of Amarillo; sisters, Roxane Skipworth of Lewisville and Melissa Thorne and husband, Clay of Flower Mound; brothers, Bob Monroe of Jacksboro and Ray Monroe of Jacksboro.
