Thomas Lee Boyd passed from this world into the welcoming arms of his loving Savior, Jesus, on September 29, 2026. He was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

Lee was born on September 28, 1954 to Thurman and Jo Nell (Reed) Boyd in Casper, Wyoming. They moved to Worland, Wyoming soon after he was born and he grew up there, developing a lifelong passion for the Big Horn Mountains, snow-skiing, and fly-fishing. He also had a lifelong passion for learning, obtaining bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming before moving to Texas, where he obtained a second master’s degree from West Texas State University.

Lee was a geologist and was also passionate about exploring for oil and gas. He went to work for R. M. “Bud” Hill in Graham in 1984, where he successfully found many new reserves. He married the love of his life, Caroline, in June 1996, & they spent 30 wonderful years blending their families and building a life together. In 2016, he formed his own operating company, Gannett Operating LLC, named for the highest peak in Wyoming, and together he and Caroline began business on their own.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Jo Nell Boyd, and his brother, Larry Boyd. He is survived by his beloved wife, Caroline; three children whom he loved with all his heart: Matt Boyd and wife Laurel of Portland, Oregon; Elizabeth Boyd of Edinburg, Texas; and Jared Hoaldridge and wife Kayla of Fort Worth, Texas. He also has six precious grandchildren whom he adored: Adelia Boyd; Ava Cardwell, Frida, Ema, and Frances Salazar; and Walker Hoaldridge.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Lee on Saturday, October 10, at 10:00 am at Cornerstone Methodist Church (705 Indiana Street) in Graham. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cornerstone Methodist Church Building Fund at PO Box 570, Graham, TX 76450.
