Tommy Jerald Hudson

Tommy Jerald Hudson, 74, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home in Abilene. Graveside services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gazebo in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Tommy was born October 21, 1947 in Sherman to the late Elva Elbert and Virginia Eloise (Farmer) Hudson. He spent years as a commercial driver going cross country before settling into the oilfield as his long term profession. On June 7, 1971 in Shreveport, LA he married the love of his life Nancy Gail Maxwell Shelton. He loved fishing, hunting and pretty much any outdoor activity, but his biggest love was spending time with his family.

Survivors include: his wife of fifty-one years, Nancy Hudson of Abilene; sons, James Shelton and wife, Asu of Germany, Emory Phillips and wife, Hillary of Bastrop, Tanner Phillips and wife, Olivia of Colorado, Tommy Jr. and wife, Dian Hudson of Sweetwater; daughter, Kristy Novian and husband, BJ of Midlothian; sister, Evelyn Meador of Louisiana, Jeanie Huffman and husband, Walter (Jr) of Abilene; brother, Elva Ray Hudson and wife, Suzy of Merkel; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa Gail Livingston, his parents, and his sister, Wanda Maxwell.
