Travis "Sonny" Hardy, Jr.

Travis H. “Sonny” Hardy, Jr., 79, passed away Sunday July 5, 2026. A Memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday July 28, 2026 at First Baptist Church Bryson.

Sonny was born March 21, 1947 in Galveston, Texas to the late Ruby Sara (Tate) Hardy and Travis Herman Hardy, Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Sonny married Kathryn Lajoy McKenzie, September 18, 2004 in Galveston. Sonny was a retired car salesman working mostly in Bacliff, Texas area. Sonny was a member of First Baptist Church in Bryson.

Survivors include; wife, Lajoy Hardy of Bryson; daughters, Sarakay Hardy of Bryson and Gina Hardy of Tucson, AZ.; sons, Trey Hardy and wife Keliann of Norman, OK. and Matthew Hardy of California; sister, Linda Hardy-Pinkston of Palestine, TX and Cheryl Gautier; brother Mike Hardy; grandchildren Cori, Jordan, Makaylee, Mirranda, Samantha, Jaycee, and Maddie; and many great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, mother Ruby Tate, and father Travis Hardy; brothers, Patrick Hardy and Richard Hardy; daughter, Nicole Hardy.
