Wesley C. Bowers

Wesley C. Bowers, 81, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in Wichita Falls.  Graveside services will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Wesley was born May 14, 1934 in Sidon, Mississippi to the late George Wesley and Willie Lee (Thomas) Bowers.  He married Dorothy Sue Boyer August 21, 1953 in Indianola, Mississippi.  Wesley was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as Master Sergeant, US ASA Airborne/Green Beret receiving the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, and National Defense Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Survivors include: wife, Dorothy Bowers of Graham; sons, Carl Bowers and wife, Linda of Possum Kingdom Lake, Robert Wesley Bowers and wife, Kay of Charleston, South Carolina, and Steven Bowers and wife, Trish of Midland; sister, Diane Bowers, M.D. of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother, Kenneth Bowers of Sacramento, California; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Bowers.
