Yvonne Marlyn Partain Pharis passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 in Graham. A celebration of her life will be held at Eastside Church of Christ in Graham on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Olney under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.
Yvonne was born on December 18, 1934 in Olney to Foy Partain and Lillian Brazelton Partain. The family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she graduated from high school. Yvonne married the love of her life, Lloyd Pharis, on June 8, 1953. They lived in Lubbock, Seminole, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Hobbs, New Mexico, and Roswell, New Mexico. They moved to Graham in 1984.
Yvonne's devout faith and love of family was evident by her everyday life. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ in Graham. She was the consummate homemaker. Anyone who sat at her table was truly blessed with good food and fellowship. She always made holidays special for her six grandchildren from her "Christmas is Coming Soon" treat bag to decorating Easter eggs together to cooking in the kitchen with them. Her recipes are highly prized by her granddaughters.
Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Lloyd and three sons, Mike Pharis and wife, Vicki of Lewisville, Allen Pharis and wife, Patty of Colorado City, and Greg Pharis and wife, Darla of Graham. Her six grandchildren, Michelle Wallace and husband, Scott, Ryan Pharis and wife, Allison, Cade Pharis and wife, Lori, Courtney Johnson and husband, Gregg, Devan Pharis, and Kaitlin Pharis. She is also survived by seven precious great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kambree, and Tanner Wallace, Raney, Haden, and Chesni Pharis, and Jaxon Johnson with 2 great grandchildren "on the way."
She is preceded in death by her parents Foy and Lillian Partain and her sister, Mary Nell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Foster's Children's Home, P.O. Box 978, Stephenville, TX 76401.
The family would like to thank her doctors and caretakers at Horizon Bay Memory Care and Beyond Faith Hospice for their kind and loving care of their wife and mother.
