On February 28, 2020, Gwendolyn Rose Hearn, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away at the age of 88. Gwendolyn Elizabeth Rose was born July 21, 1931 in Gorman, Texas to O.B. and Louise Rose.  She was married to Joe Thomas Hearn who preceded her in death in 2005.  She had four children, Michael, who preceded her in death in1986, Jeana (Howard Doyle), Patrick (Rosie) and Thomas (Kandi).

She is survived by her sister, Jeana Shambeck, her three children, 8 grandchildren: Christopher (Shannon) Czimskey, Justin (Natalie) Czimskey, John (Laura) Hearn, James (Randi) Hearn, Kathryn (Seth) Boschen, Frances (Duy) Tran, Richard Hearn and Ryan Hearn, and 14 great grandchildren.

Gwen was raised in Graham and after graduation from Graham High School attended Tarleton State University.  Gwen and Joe lived in Graham until 1967, when they moved to Brownsville, Texas, where Gwen continued her profession as a legal secretary until her retirement in 1992.  Upon retirement, they moved back to Graham where she enjoyed her retirement in the community that she loved so much.  She was an avid supporter of Graham High School athletic teams, and loved the Texas Aggies, the alma mater of her father, O.B. Rose.  Before suffering a stroke in 2015, she was the treasurer of Meals on Wheels and was active in the Graham Hospital Auxiliary and her childhood church, the First United Methodist Church.

Gwen enjoyed reading, being outdoors, travelling to watch her grandchildren in athletic events and interacting with friends on Facebook. In retirement, she was blessed to be able to enjoy her grandchildren and great grandchildren, to whom she was affectionately known as ‘Granny’.
