Sammy Ruddy

Samuel “Sammy” Edward Ruddy, 66, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at his residence in Graham. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Morrison Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Pioneer Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Home.

Sammy was born August 12, 1954 in Wichita Falls to Patsy (Collier) Hoepfner and Samuel Edward Ruddy, II. He married Julie Kay Hibbitts July 5, 1975 in Graham.

Sammy enjoyed all things horses hunting & family. Rodeoed as much as he could, roped every weekend he was allowed while the family followed. He had a passion for silver work that soon grew into a self made business. From making buckles for a few Dallas cowboys to the badge of Texas Rangers. His talents didn’t end there. He ventured into leather work and spur making as well. His latest project was knife forging, which was a challenge and he loved it. Sammys wife, Julie, and daughters were his biggest fans and best customers. But, his latest and greatest enjoyment in life were his grandkids. He wasn’t a man to wear his emotion on his sleeve but loved deeply. If you ever had the honor to sit in his shop you always left with some sort of life lesson, even if you didn’t realize the sun was coming up when you left there. Many called his shop “The Time Warp.”
